Parents as Teachers (PAT) in Lancaster County

Our Parents as Teachers (PAT) program partners with families during the critical early years of a child’s life. We partner with Community Action Partnership (CAP) in Lancaster to provide these families with a trained Early Learning Mentor (ELM).

This early childhood development program provides:

• Parent education and encouragement

• Developmental screenings

• Early learning guidance

• Family support resources

By strengthening families early, children enter school prepared to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

National Night Out Community Event

Each year, during National Night Out, we host our Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway.

Students receive brand-new backpacks filled with grade-appropriate school supplies, helping families prepare for the new school year with confidence.

Christmas Assistance Program

The Christmas season can be overwhelming for families facing financial challenges.

Acts of Love Summer Lunch Program

When school is out, access to consistent meals can be limited.

Through the Acts of Love Summer Lunch Program — in partnership with local churches and community organizations — we provide free weekly lunches to families throughout the Cocalico area from mid-June through mid-August.

This program:

• Helps ensure children have reliable summer meals

• Supports families during out-of-school months

• Strengthens local church and nonprofit partnerships

• Brings practical care directly into neighborhood parks

Together, we are ensuring children are fed and families are supported all summer long.
