20140525_101815Churches are in decline in America.  There is no need to sugar coat things.  In his book, “Already Gone”, Ken Ham states that, “In the last 3 generations, the church, God, and the Bible have become irrelevant to youth culture today”.  It’s time to wake up the church!  It’s time to go to the church and equip the church to become more relevant to youth.  How do we do that, by explaining that kids don’t care what you know until they know how much you care.  So we need to get out and educate the church on how to relate to youth.  The best way to do that is to talk about the issues they are struggling with; self identity, bullying, peer pressure, etc.

We take a team of students and visit a church (usually of one of the team members).  We then share with either the youth group, Sunday morning service, or during a special service.  We encourage them to speak up, not down, to a child.  We tell them to include youth with your program, to teach, or participate as a greeter or usher.  We talk about the 7 issues that teens are struggling with.  We talk about how to uplift youth be looking for good character traits in them to encourage them.  We leave with a call to action to get the church involved in the community or school.  Some creative way to connect with hurting youth.Adamstown Days 2014
