Mentoring guarantees a young person that there is someone who cares about them. A child needs to know that they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges of life.
Think back in your life. Did you know how to change a tire or make plans for college? Do you remember wanting your first car or looking for a job? Simple things that seem easy to you may not be to a young person.
Mentors provide an experienced friend who is there to help in any number of situations.
Individual Mentoring – We meet regularly to mentor and encourage teens who are struggling. We are developing a 12-month program to take teens through to help them mature; providing a better opportunity to develop into a more successful and more stable adult. Teens are connected with a loving adult who will stay in regular contact with them and see them face-to-face at least once a week for one year. This is a more intense program for those teens who may be at-risk. The program can be altered to meet the needs of the youth that would be more fitting for their needs.
Mentoring will be available on a case by case basis depending on the availability of the mentor and needs of the youth. An assessment will be done before any program is started. If you have any questions or know of anyone who would like to participate, please contact Rod Redcay (email@example.com).
