Youth Development Momentum Program

Mentoring guarantees a young person that there is someone who cares about them. A child needs to know that they are not alone in dealing with the day-to-day challenges of life.

Think back on your life. Did you know how to change a tire or make plans for college? Do you remember wanting your first car or looking for a job? Simple things that seem easy to you may not be to a young person.

Mentors provide an experienced friend who is there to help in any number of situations.

Individual Mentoring

Cross-Age Mentoring (CAMP) teaches connectedness activities and mentor-mentee interactions. Through Momentum, Our group of trained young adults will be connecting with High School students in the Cocalico School District. Our young adults are highly motivated to love on others and to be loved on. Each young adult works with 1-3 high school peer mentors, providing a great leadership opportunity and a chance to change the world, one student at a time. Each Tuesday night we will be using the CAMP curriculum as well as team-building activities to help students connect with themselves and others.

All young adults interested in becoming a Lead Mentor must fill out the volunteer application below to apply. You will then be contacted soon after for a group interview.

If you have any questions please contact us at (717) 336-7797 or email Robyn at

What is Momentum?

Momentum is a sub-group of Aevidum (a high school club), designed to allow students to come together to find creative ways to address (some, if not all) 23 difficult issues teens are dealing with. Students will meet together to discuss ways to bring awareness to these issues at school and church youth groups.

Why do we need Momentum?

There is a group of students that have a lot of passion to reach out to their fellow classmates who are hurting. These students need a way to be encouraged, equipped, and empowered to make a difference in their school and church. Also, for the most part, the church has turned a blind eye and doesn’t want to recognize the issues causing depression and suicide. Momentum will be that vehicle to equip and empower young people to speak out about issues that are directly affecting their lives.

What Bible verse do we use as our Mission Statement?

Ezra 5:11 We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago…

Seven issues to focus on first

  • Bullying

  • Purity
  • Pride
  • Anger/Frustration
  • Worldliness (greed & consumerism)
