Power Packs
The Power Packs Project recognizes the vital role that nutrition plays in a child’s ability to learn. This program provides families with a low-cost meal each week, including the ingredients to make it. Furthermore, we also provide staples such as peanut butter and cereal. Power Packs aims to empower participating families to make the most of their food budgets, ensuring their children are well-nourished and prepared to learn at school.
If you think of the saying “Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime,” you will understand the unique aspect of this program. The educational component of Power Packs is vital to the goal of “changed behavior” among the participating families.
REAL Life Community Services funds and oversees the Power Packs Project in the Cocalico School District. However, REAL Life could not do this without partnering with local churches, businesses, and individuals. We offer this program to all of the schools in the Cocalico School District. Click on the link below to sign your family up for Power Packs and we will contact you once we have processed your registration.
Registration for Power Packs opens on August 1st each year!
