What to Expect
Your First Appointment
At your first visit, you will meet with a social worker. You will talk about your background, income, and current needs. Together, you will set goals and create action steps—a simple plan to help you move forward.
Action steps may include:
-
Resources to contact
-
Programs to apply for
-
Other next steps that support long-term stability
Your social worker will offer guidance, ideas, and support. In some cases, REAL Life may provide direct assistance when there is a clear plan and commitment to follow it. You may also complete a strengths assessment to help identify your skills and progress.
Follow-Up Appointments
Follow-up appointments are encouraged. They allow you to review progress, adjust goals, and get continued support as you work through your action steps.
Service Guidelines
-
If you arrive 15 minutes or more late, you may need to reschedule.
-
If you miss three appointments, you must wait 30 days before scheduling again.
-
Services remain available as long as you stay engaged with your action steps. If challenges come up, please talk with your social worker so goals can be adjusted.
